If you really want to read this, try using The Internet Archive. Yet Flamingo was borne not of his solo ambitions, nor of any intra-band friction, but rather of his eagerness to get the songs which he had for the next Killers album committed to tape while the group took an extended. There are no huge musical surprises. There are moments where the bombast is really quite thrilling, where it manages to stay often only just on the side of good taste. At almost six minutes it outstays its welcome, but you have to admire the sheer gall of how in that time Flowers manages to reach an entirely overblown epiphany of billowy keyboards before ease into a short honky-tonk passage.

Like, right now if you can, before Flowers gets any more aspirations for future solo projects. This is a big problem since grand, lofty statements full of meaning seems to be all he wants to talk about. The communication of these ideas is far, far from the level of the Boss, sinking the album in cliches and dramatic lines that will make you roll your eyes. Once you break Flamingo down song-by-song though, it…. The wordless vocal intro is pretty peculiar, but it works. Then, of course, Flowers goes right back into his preaching speeches that pass for lyrics. Instead of a true collaboration, Lewis is relegated to background vocals. Show your cards?
